The CLP-300N was a bit of a letdown. The CLP-315 is a completely different—and far superior—printer. The CLP-315 is one of the world’s smallest colour lasers, according to Samsung. It’s one of just two colour lasers I’ve seen that’s small enough to be considered truly personal, the other being the HP Color LaserJet CP1518ni, which has a larger footprint and costs around twice as much. Both printers, however, fit neatly on a desktop without dominating it and are short enough that they do not appear to loom over you.
The CLP-315 also has one constraint in common with the HP printer: the paper drawer is limited to 150 sheets to keep the height down. If you print more than 30 pages every day on average, reloading the drawer might become a tedious process. Given that the CLP-315 is intended as a personal printer that connects simply by USB connection, this shouldn’t be a problem in most circumstances. If you share the printer over a network, this is more likely to be an issue.
